Statement By Cannabis Law Reform (CLEAR)

with 13 comments

The statement posted on the CLEAR website earlier tonight concerning the “sacking” of Peter Reynolds (now removed) is false and unlawful. The officers of the party as registered with the Electoral Commission are Peter Reynolds and Janice Wells. The affairs and records of CLEAR are fully compliant with its own constitution and with the Electoral Commission’s requirements.

By hijacking the CLEAR website, Chris Bovey has committed a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. He has been reported to the police and our solicitors have been instructed. We also have documentary evidence implicating Des Humphrey, Orson Boon, Sanj Chowdhary, Greg de Hoedt and Levent Akbulut in a criminal conspiracy.

This has been reported to the police under crime reference number C12D12966.

  2. I would have posted on the CLEAR website but could not log into Disqus. I read the forum regularly & support the aims of CLEAR along side more settled groups like Transform. I’ve been lucky to have some sensible letters supporting reform published in large newspapers & often add comments to internet sites in support of law reform.

It’s sad that this type of infighting has broken out for whatever reason as everyone’s focus should be on changing the general publics opinions on the situation the world finds itself in after 100 years of racist rhetoric. Without doubt it all plays neatly into the hands of prohibitionist – divide & conqur ect.

Glad to see you are back online now though and best wishes for a continuing and successful campaign.

  3. True colours from Sarah McCulloch ” CLEAR does not make up even a majority of the cannabis reform movement, let alone the wider anti-prohibition movement ” . . . ” CLEAR must be publicly condemned “.

I gues she must have missed reading the published copy of the Home Affairs Committee Drugs Enquiry Written evidence.

  4. It seems that the latest anti-Peter installation is via Wikipedia.

Is it just my paranoia or is the fact that you can find this page http://www.sarahmcculloch.com/jeff.php , and the person initiating the deletion of Peters Page claims this This man has not been “the subject of multiple published secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.” His sole claim to fame is that he was the leader of a party that has now removed him for attacking medicinal cannabis users and threatening members of the public. [I should disclose that I was one of them, but I still feel that objectively Peter Reynolds is not notable] Dev920 [link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Dev920%5D , who misses Jeffpw [link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Jeffpw/Memoriam ]. 20:25, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

    • Sarah McCulloch is a cheap, incompetent attempt at journalism. Her screenshot obsession is an embarrassment of excruciating, adolescent awkwardness. Fourth division. “D” list. Bless her!

  6. Peter,

You say that CLEAR is a political party but I didn’t see you guys standing in the recent by-election in Bradford. Will CLEAR be standing in the next parliamentary by-election?

    • There’s much, much more to politics than elections, David. As a single issue party, we don’t aim to win seats, what we’re after is influence. If we judge that standing in a particular election is a cost effective use of our resources then we will do so.

    • A UK resident is NOT protected under the Schengen agreement to bring back prescribed medicinal cannabis. You need a certificate from the appropriate authority of your country of residence which in the UK is the Home Office.
