Why does the (lack of real) response from Mr Campbell, or any other Politician come to that surprise you. Frankly they have bigger fish to fry ; (or smoke as you would prefer it – think of Kippers, but don’t get too exicted!) , and really the legalisation of Cannabis is the last thing on any Politicicans mind at the moment.
We are already a Bankrupt, near unemployable popilation and I realy don’t think Cannabis (apart from take you out of reality briefly) is going really “high” on anyones agenda.
Keep taking the druugg Maaan! I am sure your renal system will fail long before the Act is passed to legalise Cannabis. In the same way as Phenobarbitone was not recoginised as addictive and raised to Class A drug in the 1970s. I fear that our deaths’ will be long be long past before the argument for legalisation of cannbis will arrive.
Most e-mail you will write will be like those on linked-iin; computerised, impersonal, and not a hope in hells chance of being read.
If the Governments of the last ten years have been trying to wean people off Tobbacco(also an ignitable weed), I can’t see the legalisation of Cannabis being high [sic] on any Governments’ agenda.
Keep puffing and dreaming about dragons Peter, as that you will ever see, certainly in our lifetime.

Thats not a good enough reason to not even try. If you believe in something don’t just sit around and complain, do something. even though the movement may be small at the moment everthing has to start somewhere, Peters work is inspiring younger people like me to want to make a difference.
His work is priceless and he donsn’t need pessimists, so if you agree with him, help don’t hinder.
Im sure he won’t listen to what you have just said anyway!!
keep up the work Peter.

After all those exchanges on this site, DC, you still don’t get it, do you?
Why don’t you just butt out, and stop trying to demoralise people. It won’t work anyway.

The issue here is whether it is right for a government to make part of nature illegal. If you had any sense, you’d realise that you cannot outlaw certain plants! So, how can a government state that nature is wrong somehow? That is the issue which all politicians see fit to dodge by using foundationless arguments about health concerns, when they ply alcohol with all their might through the TV!

And Peter is also inspiring me on the other side of the world in New Zealand to make a difference. I have lived in the UK and now reside in NZ where I have introduced hundreds of people to Peters blog and CLEAR.
Do not give up, we are very close to change.

On Peters advice i have wrote loads of emails to MPs here in Northern Ireland and have got some strange answers eg, Jeffrey Donaldson MLA – As a devout christian i believe cannabis causes mental illness breaks up familys and i will never support the decriminalisation for medical use of cannabis in NI . I then sent him the FACTS on cannabis and the illnesses it has been used to help / cure and asked him one more question – If one of your kids or your wife came down with a serious illness and NHS / private hospitals told you treatment had failed and there was not much they could do, and in your desperation you looked online and seen that CANNABIS had been used in America to ease or cure the illness WOULD YOU BREAK THE LAW ? The response i got was NO he wouldnt break the law . So the devout christian is even willing to let his own family members die to uphold the law , very christian like !! On reading this story i am now emailing the secretary of health for NI to ask him to contact DC to ask why the ACMD is being ignored , why evidence is not being used and why MPs continue to scare people with FACTS that have not been proved . If the American people would not have stood up and demanded cannabis for medical conditions it would still be illegal there ARCHITECT . The more people that know the truth means more MPs receiving emails like mine asking questions and that = MPs digging a deeper hole for themselves to climb out off . Keep at them Peter and keep up the good work !! PS Peter i have had people say to me it would be a good idea to set up a stall in Belfast city centre and hand out information , leaflets on the true facts about cannabis . Could someone get in trouble for this if it was to happen eg being illegal or do you think its a good idea to try to spread some truth ?

There is no offence in distributing information about cannabis as long as you aren’t inciting anyone to break the law.

Butt out, why?
Just becuase I am telling you and other people what you don’t want to hear.
I am not the only one who has told you it will never happen !

Yes but we want a postive move forward and you seem to be more interested in being the preverbial “i told you so” type of person. its not that we dont want to hear it its that we are sick of hearing it already, the more we campaign diligently politley and ethically, the more we might be able to make a difference or change, moaning that things will never change is not going to help our cause.

Hi Peter, I had a short debate with my MP (Richard Graham Con Gloucester) via email, which actually started with me sending one of the template letters from the CLEAR site. I’d like to send you a copy of it, but my Blackberry won’t let me fill in the contact form on the site. I there an email address I could send it to?
July 5, 2011 at 10:57 pm
Send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Peter et al,
If you can stomach the words of a seriously bigoted policeman on the subject, have a peep at the ‘thinking’ policeman’s latest blog. It should take but a few moments to work out who, other than himself, this plod of modest mind ‘thinks’ his crusade will assist.
