Bono On Cannabis

with 15 comments

If I said I’d been skydiving you’d think I was cool.  Cannabis is much, much safer and it’s the coolest thing I’ve ever done.

  5. Err? I think you may wanna hold off on the Bono qoutes at the moment, it looks as if his status is under some serious attack with the whole tax dodging thing thats come out at Glastonbury? Speaking of which wouldn’t it do Clear some good to do some stuff at Glastonbury? It’s obviously a bit late this year but it’ll certainly be a good idea for next year. Apparently activism is highly welcomed by the Glastonbury crowd. If nothing else it could help raise some awareness.

    • CLEAR will be at Glastonbury next year. I see no connection at all between Bono’s tax affairs and his sensible views on cannabis.

      • Glastonbury isn’t on next year, it’s the ‘furrow year’ to give the locals a break, next Glasto is 2013, but theres still reading/leeds download and latitude etc…

    • Absolutely agree Sarah; I meen i obviously wholly support al the work that he has done for charity over the years but one cannot rule out the suspicion that he’s (possibly) doing it purely for personal satisfaction. And U2 have had IRA tis before which is always a worry … but at least his views on cannabis remain pure.

  7. I am disgusted with Bono for his tax evasion, I also can’t stand Richard Branson, I believe he is illuminati (Maybe paranoia:) But both have good views on cannabis and any exposure is good for the cause. I think CLEAR will be welcomed at Glastonbury and get many people listening to fact and not the propoganda that’s caused so much hurt.

  8. errrr…. acording to Glastonbury – people don’t take drugs at their festival….

Probably why they didn’t want the piss testing.

  9. At a U2 gig – it went silent – Bono kept claping his hands slowly for a while. Then he said “everytime i clap my hands a child in africa dies.”

Audience member shouted “stop clapping you f**king hands then”

  10. Celebs are not stupid some off them are masters of getting into the public eye even when no body likes them ( Katie Price ) . They are starting to realise that if they are pro cannabis they will be liked by the public even more and that = more money in the bank more pap photos and their faces in Hello and OK mags . Bono is just another name to the list of celebs and it wont mean a thing to the government no matter what celeb comes forward to say weed is ok , MPs wont even listen to their scientific advisers ffs why would they listen to celebs, the only source MPs are going to listen to is the Daily Mail when they are pro weed thats when the laws will change . Pretty sad i know but its true !!
