Cameron Takes Charge

with 11 comments

Once More Unto The Breach Dear Friends!

I am tremendously impressed with David Cameron.  His light has been hidden under the bushel of the coalition for too long.  His courageous words in Turkey and India have reminded me that he is a true leader.  Tonight’s excellent BBC documentary, Five Days That Changed Britain, reminds me that it was his bold leadership that initiated the coalition, an idea that is proving stronger and cleverer than anyone can have thought.

He has said precisely the right thing about Turkey, Israel, Gaza, India and Pakistan.  He has spoken the truths that so many others have been afraid to.  I am proud that he is our prime minister.   He fills me with confidence that he knows his direction and will stick firmly to it.   He is nobody’s fool and everybody’s champion.  He is a man who I am very prepared to trust, to give him the time he needs to achieve the big ambitions.

David Cameron is the right man at the right time.  We should all give him our support.

  1. It takes all sorts, Mr Reynolds. All sorts. The man has already proved himself an apprentice. If his party could they would say, “David, you’re fired”.

  3. ALTERNATIVELY he is another state capitalist muppet ,that tows the party line and flops from one political farce to another…In his short time he has managed to accuse Iran of possessing Nuclear Weapons (a bit of a political blunder to say the least!!) accused the Pakistani government of helping terrorism (while the UK governments actions have reduced terrorism??? I think NOT!!!) He has even had to send out some young lackee to apologise to his financial backers in Israel…At least he is consistant 😉
one MP declaring “he is increasingly getting a reputation for being a foreign policy klutz, with two right feet, both of them firmly planted in his mouth.”
He could actually be even worse than Tony Blair!!!!
btw “keepTonyBlairforPM” are you suggesting Tony “the liar and war criminal” should join the Tory party? He would need to if he was to become PM again….

  4. “state capitalist muppet” – I have no idea what that means. Do you?

“tows (or even toes) the party line” – I hardly think so. What? You think going into coalition with the LibDems was toeing the party line? Actually “towing” is probably more accurate because he was pulling the party along behind him, reluctantly. DC is his own man.

The Iran business was a slip of the tongue as you well know. If you and others can find no better reason to criticise than when someone mis-speaks, then I suggest you have no reason at all.

On Pakistan DC is 100% right. After the extraordinary hospitality and support that this country has shown to Pakistan over many years, the way we’ve been repaid is appalling. I agree that foolish expeditions into Iraq and Afghanistan haven’t helped. You can blame my chum keeptonyblairforpm for that if you like!

As for sending a lackee (or even a lackey) to Israel, I haven’t heard that one. If I was DC I’d certainly want to keep Israel’s money on side but it wouldn’t stop me denouncing it for the oppressive, neo-fascist state it’s become. But then maybe you meant lychee or some other oriental fruit. Is that kosher?

“klutz” certainly is. Maybe that’s a clue to the bias of the MP in question?

Worse than Tony Blair? Please! Let’s try and retain some sense of proportion here!

    • Come on Peter… you DON’T KNOW what state capitalism is?!?!
      YOU ARE LIVING IN IT!!!
State capitalism has various different meanings, but is usually described as a society wherein the productive forces are controlled and directed by the state in a capitalist manner, even if such a state calls itself socialist. Corporatized state agencies and states that own controlling shares of publicly-listed firms, and thus acting as a capitalist itself, are two examples of state capitalism

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_capitalism

OF COURSE THIS IS JUST FASCISM!!

Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.
Benito Mussolini, fascist dictator of Italy (1922-1943)
      Maybe time to wake up?

DC is a cheerleader,NOT a REAL leader. The real strings that tow DC along are behind the scenes, just like with Tony Blair.
Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) is a parliamentary group founded by the late Conservative MP for Bury and Radcliffe, Michael Fidler and currently chaired by Stuart Polak. The CFI states its main aim is to strengthen business, cultural and political ties between the UK and Israel.Between 2006 and 2009, the CFI paid for more than 30 Conservative parliamentary candidates to visit Israel[3] . A Nov 2009 Dispatches documentary claimed that now around 80% of Conservative MPs are members of the CFI[5] and described them as “beyond doubt the most well- connected and probably the best funded of all Westminster lobbying groups”.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservative_Friends_of_Israel
Britain vows to change policy allowing U.K. to arrest Israeli politicians
British Foreign Secretary William Hague says it is unacceptable for Israeli politicians to feel like they can’t visit for fear of being arrested.
By Haaretz Service British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Thursday that the new U.K. government is already looking into the issue of universal jurisdiction, describing the current situation as “unsatisfactory” and “indefensible”.
Try and keep up Peter…maybe its your bias that lacks some proportion?

      • Ahh. Ohh. Brrr. Sorry, just picking myself up off the floor after that knockout punch.

It ws the conjunction of “state capitalist” and “muppet” I didn’t understand. I have some sympathy with your description of our society but, even if I was to accept your exaggeration as true, it’s down to New Labour and nothing to do with DC. As for the Jewish lobby, what’s new? There’s nothing surprising there.

You’ve got me excited at the prospect of arresting some Israeli war criminals though. Can I come and watch?

  5. @ cuthulan

I wonder if Mr Reynolds feels quite so proud of DC now, after his Iran remark? I am tempted to wonder if he is the WORST PM ever. How many boobs is that in about a fortnight? Four? Six?

As for Blair joining the Tories? That crowd of losers? (I voted for them, btw, personal reasons only – I knew the local candidate. The candidate lost, btw.)

Tont Blair’s a winner. Always was and always will be. I DO realise this country, or rather its press, is a little slow in recognising such. But they will.

    • That’s it John! Spread the blind loyalty on good and thick there. But m’lud, I’m disappointed in you, taking advantage of a chap’s misverballing or whatever it was Bush used to call it. That’s hardly cricket is it – or baseball?

As for the boobs, I think DC’s probably sticking just to Sam’s pair. They’ll be ripe and plump now, just like those special “Taste the Difference” peaches in Sainsbury’s. You remember when Pauline…? Oh, sorry, that’s a long time ago now.

  6. LOL….But I think my description of DC is very apt.
DC is a polition so is a state official .
DC claims to believe in free markets ,so he is a capitalist.
He is a pawn of lobby groups and power brokers ,a human puppet,or a muppet.
That is why he is a state capitalist muppet. Personally I do not see the exagreation. We live in a state that police kill roughly a citizen a week without any charges being brought against them.
We are being forced in debt slavery to bailout corrpt banks, this is a combination of state and corporate power.
As for blaming New Labour , I remember them coming to power on the ticket they would keep the Thatcherite policies in place. For all New Labours sins ,and there are many ,this is not one of thier making, they just kept the ball rolling.
    http://cuthulan.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/reaganomics-thatcherism-and-the-blueprint-of-financial-destruction-and-debt-slavery/
Do NOT expect any war criminals being arrested while the Torys are in power. They are financed by Israelli war criminals and voted for war just like the UK war criminals.
    http://cuthulan.wordpress.com/2010/07/27/great-shame-great-disaster-great-deciet-in-a-not-so-great-britain-and-a-not-so-great-government-but-its-no-great-deal/
BUT if you go to Malaysia you might see war criminals getting arrested
    http://cuthulan.wordpress.com/2010/04/28/tony-blair-very-close-to-being-indicted-for-war-crime-in-malaysia/
    OR maybe even Spain?
    http://cuthulan.wordpress.com/2010/02/07/where-have-all-the-burger-eating-war-monkeys-gone-cry-havoc-and-unleash-the-dogs-of-war-crimes/
Personally I have little faith in the “justice” system.

    • I’m becoming more sympathetic to your point of view by the minute.

On the subjects of the police and justice, see my latest post: https://peterreynolds.wordpress.com/2010/08/06/arent-our-police-wonderful/

There is no justice in Britain anymore unless you pay through the nose for it. Many (not all) judges and magistrates are corrupt. The CPS is corrupt. Many (not all) policemen are corrupt and violent thugs. Forget the deficit or unemployment, I think this is the biggest problem in Britain.

  7. As I know we have said before ,I do not think there is that much difference in our views. We are maybe explaining the same problem from different perspectives…….
