The Right To Bear Arms

with 10 comments

Truth, justice and freedom are dead in the United Kingdom.

Our Freedom

We now live in a police state where brutality and murder is sanctioned by government institutions.

In the USA a citizen’s ultimate defence against state oppression is the second amendment to the Constitution and the right to bear arms.

We need this protection in the UK now.

  1. Some may believe quiet reason is the best route to this goal and will politely present a ‘good case’ to our government for the right of citizens to bear arms.

On the other hand, History has no record of the acquisition of mass arms by citizens other than by force and sequestration.

    • It would certainly change the attitude of the police if they weren’t the only ones with the guns…

  2. I have problems with general rights to bear arms because of nutters and criminals. This is a shame – any real arguments against this view?

    • But the nutters and the criminals often come in police uniforms these days.

As you correctly pointed out to Inspector Gadget (I’m still barred), the attitudes of many police officers are remarkably similar to the supporters of Raoul Moat.

In the USA they would argue that with enough guns around the local populace would take out the nutters and criminals quicker than the police could manage.

When we see the police and the state behaving as they have today, I’m only concerned about my own and my family’s safety. We can no longer rely on the “authorities”. I want my own protection.

      • Exactly. What is more frightening than any Raul Moat type is the fact that there is a murderer walking the streets. He is wearing a police uniform and in possession of all the powers of the police.

      • I agree, Mr. Reynolds. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Unfortunately, it will be as you said; we can not rely on the “authorities.” I do not put my trust in them.

      • There has to be some ultimate backstop against state oppression, particularly with the way the British police are starting to behave. We’ve already given up too much of our liberty here. The hysterical backlash from Hungerford and Dunblane has suited the police perfectly. In America, Charlton Heston, president of the NRA says “You can take my gun from my cold, dead hand!” Unfortunately we’ve already let them take ours.

    • the nutters and criminals already have guns in the uk it’s the law abiding citizens who don’t have guns i have never been in trouble with the police in my life i work hard for eveything i’ve got and i’m not allowed to protect my family or property from intruders and if i hurt or even kill an intruder in my property i’m the bad guy and the guilty intruder is the victim that is so wrong things have got to chainge and the reson the govenment don’t want the people to have guns is simple how can you can subdue and hold to ransom a populus that can defend it’s self history will prove this most of all the war’s that have taken place over the last 40-50 odd years the power at that time have taken away the people’s means to defend themselfs before going to war germany did this 2 years before starting any war and that is an historical fact we need are guns back and we did have the english bill of rites and the rite to bear arms in 1668 long time before the usa but we let that rite slip away without a fight that’s why were in this mess now

  3. If people could bear arms in the UK, Derek Bird would have been dead before a single person had been killed by him, Raoul Moat would be peppered with birdshot before he had killed anyone and crime in Britain would be down before you could say “Second Amendment

  4. I salute Charlton Heston!

May America NEVER give up her guns! NEVER!

I am so sorry for a nation where people do not have the right to defend themselves from tyrants and traitors.

People everywhere should have the right to bear arms and defend themselves from oppressors.
