BBC Launches 347th Inquiry Into Jimmy Saville. How’s About That Then?

with 19 comments

Just in the past week, the BBC has commissioned 26 new documentaries about Jimmy Saville,  Channel 5 has put out a general appeal for independent production companies prepared to investigate the scandal.  Channel 4 is dedicating a month of Jon Snow’s time to this vital work and Rupert has instructed Sky to prepare a special nightly news bulletin, combined with Premier League stars in dedicated condemnation of the disc jockey from hell.

The Home Affairs committee, the Culture, Media and Sport committee, the Health Services committee, the Justice committee and the Cabinet Office are launching their own inquiries next week and the Speaker is also considering a five year long investigation headed up by the Right Honourable Dame Sally Bercow, newly appointed head of the Scumbag Saville charity, patron HM The Queen.

Esther Rantzen is facing 25 years in jail for failing to report her suspicions.  Mother Theresa is accused of complicity because she once said Saville had done good work and Peter Hitchens, Mail on Sunday columnist, has been sent to the Tower for life for his preposterous suggestion that we may be focusing too much attention on Jimmy Saville and his legacy.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

A life size dummy of Jimmy Saville is to be hung, drawn and quartered at Marble Arch, historical site of the Tyburn executions – David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband will be in attendance .  In Paris, the guillotine is to be rolled out for another Saville-faced crash test dummy to face its doom.  In the US, simultaneous executions by electric chair, gas chamber, firing squad and lethal injection are to be performed on Saville dummies.

The High Court has ordered that everyone who ever watched an episode of Jim’ll Fix It should receive 25 years counselling at the BBC’s expense and Lord Justice Leveson is to head up a new inquiry into whether the media has expressed sufficient condemnation of Mr Saville’s actions.

Meanwhile, criminal prosecutions are to be brought against every member of the Leeds social services department and their heirs and successors for the next fifteen generations.

In a speech tonight, Harriet Harman, Labour party guru, said “We are not doing enough to condemn the allegations against this man… Sorry, I mean this man and his allegations which are now pronounced as fact by all right thinking people with no right of reply.  Dead?  Is he?  Already?  What a shame we were about to call for chemical castration for all BBC staff”

  3. I’m struggling to understand what your viewpoint on this is Peter.

I for one think it has blown out of proportion. As one of my FB friends typed: “dead men cannot speak for themselves” which I agree with. Sure, he molested many many young girls but why are all these allegations only coming to light now? Also, is there a way to definitively make sure someone’s claims are true? Everyday I watch BBC, another couple of allegations came to light, this is preposterous.

“Victims will be able to sue and receive compensation” Oh wait, I too was abused by Jimmy!! You see what this can lead to? FFS, some even claim to be his lovechild, wtf??!

    • Steven they are all missing the big Picture, and that is they are tearing up International Law, that states we are all Innocent until proven Guilty This if they get away with it, could be the thin edge of the Wedge.

  4. Who is to blame, well Jimmy Savile mainly. Not anyone else, but they did cover this up, so why not welcome exposure? Doubtless this piece will be MISconstrued by the puffed up indignant on behalf of the victims to be more evidence that the author admires Saville’s revolting conduct. Why can’t people understand that lampooning the media responses and the whole desperate showcasing of anti-Paedo credentials is fair comment? At least understand that without pointing the finger at everyone like in some middle age witchcraft trial who comments on it to be a pro-Saville appologist for abusing children.

I would say that the only interesting thing about running this now, ie posthumously (and it does concern me that the family already chose to remove the gravestone and smash it up), is making people who allowed it to happen to feel very uncomfortable. To say it is too little too late is not to go against the point of this article, as too late for many it certainly is.

    • Of course Saville is to blame if the allegations are true which they almost certainly are. However, the sickening, prurient and excessively exploitative coverage, particularly by the BBC, is disgusting. It shouldn’t have to be said that what he is alleged to have done is appalling but there’s a sanctimonious, politically correct and very dangerous mood about that says unless you’re wailing and weeping and joining in the wildly excessive degree of condemnation of a man who can’t defend himself then somehow you share his alleged guilt.

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by the absurd amount of attention this story is getting and it goes against every fundamental principle of justice to find someone guilty when they don’t have an opportunity to defend themselves.

We are all demeaned by this episode, most especially those who glorify in the orgy of condemnation.

      • You are contradicting your self Peter, as you say he is almost certainly Guilty, and you then go on and say it is against every Fundamental principle of Justice to find someone Guilty when they don’t have an opportunity to defend themselves.

    • Darryl we are losing the fact that this Man was Innocent prior to his Death, before these Allegations came about, because in the Eyes of the Law we are all Innocent until proved Guilty in a Court of Law.
I am not standing by an Alleged Sexual Maniac who goes from Women to the Mentally Sick then from there to sick Children, I don’t think that would be the usual ”mode of operandi for a Sexual Pervert, but then again I am not Qualified to Comment.

  5. How can any Man be Guilty from beyond the Grave when there is no Evidence???

  6. If any Author was to make a Story of this before it happened they would never Sell it, because it would be an impossible Scenario, but we have it here and now in front of our Eyes. A man has been abusing Women by Assault-Sodomy and Rape who then goes on and and Criminally Assaults the Mentally Sick, and from there Criminally Assaults children in Hospitals, all in the Span of 60 Years and is never Caught or Charged even once, all in the Eyes of a Law recognised in all of the Western World, that being that any Man or Woman is Innocent before being tried and Convicted, and this Man is Dead.

  7. They have tried this Man and found him Guilty without a Trial. This could happen to all Viewers on a different Scene if they are allowed to get away with this !!!!

    • The evidence is quite clear on Jimmy Savile. Its a great shame that his victims can never receive the closure afforded to those whos abusers are alive and able to face justice. The truth can only come to light now precisely because he is dead, you can’t libel the dead. These libel laws enabled Jimmy Savlie to do as he pleased, people knew what was happening but were scared stiff of a very powerful, litigious and influential man.

These laws clearly allow certain powerful people to abuse their position and carry out such disgusting attacks. The law here is seriously unbalanced, it seems far more concerned with the reputation and income of the powerful and rich than the wellbeing of the young and vulnerable. Any enquiry that highlights this problem should be welcomed, how many more like Jimmy are protected by our defamation laws?

    • There is to be an Enquiry into the Original Enquiry in 2009 about the 4 Girls or Women that are Accusing Saville. The Result of the first was right. Why ? No Camera–No Evidence–no Charge–No Compensation.

  9. One of the causes for which he raised money was the Stoke Mandeville Hospital , where he worked for many years as a volunteer porter . Staff reported that he would search the wards for young patients to abuse and that they would instruct patients in the children’s ward to feign sleep during his visits.

    • It is ironic to think they knew about him, and yet no Cameras were used, there is something very wrong in this Case as even a Rookie Detective would have thought about their use..

  10. And now he’s allegedly abused boys too AND accused of necrophilia, LOL!!! I’m lol’ing at the ridiculousness of these revelations, are they true? Can they be substantiated without relying on anecdotes? Where is the roof on this issue? Grave Robbing and molesting half decayed corpses?

  12. Re: “BBC Launches 347th Inquiry ”

Will this be the same as the enquiry when my father Ralph Winstanly was deliberately killed in his bed in 2004?

We are still waiting for it to begin.

Lots of proving documents showing how he was killed, who did it, who helped it along, what instrument of death was used.. and much to do with the comprehensive ‘cover-up’ which has taken place.. and who in authority told the lies. Only thing missing is ‘an incorrupt system’.
